Joni has an emotional purity in her voice that draws her audience in and allows each person to feel the strength of her beliefs.   She has been a member of Joni and Diane, a duet ministry, works with Vocal Coach Roger Beales of the Voice House in Atlanta, GA, and won awards at the Babbie Mason Music Conference International.  She has been a special guest of the nationally known group, the B-Team Angels.  She has sung the National Anthem at Daytona Bike Week for a National Flat Track event, as well as for several other sporting events.  She has sung at churches, retreats, block parties, etc.  “I will sing wherever and whenever God wants me to; for one or a million.  I am His and this is His purpose for Me.” says Joni.  “I am just so thankful to be used by Him in any capacity, and for Him to me through what I have always had such a strong passion for; that is just so awesome!”

She has been singing since she was three years old and became a Christian at age eight. Her mother was a piano teacher and Joni started taking serious piano lessons at the ripe old age of five.  She continued for twelve years, winning first place at several recitals.  When she was ten, she began singing with a small group of friends and traveling around to area churches and nursing homes.  She also played the flute for six years and was First Chair flute of her high school’s concert band.  Always the love of music, always the passion to sing.  “God has always used music to give me peace and the joy of the Lord, and singing takes it to an even higher level for me,” she says.

Throughout her life, Joni has experienced many difficulties, as everyone has.  She's faced the common temptations in life and missing the mark on many occasions.  She’s been through a severe, debilitating/suicidal depression, divorce, being a single, working mom, married again, and has two boys Calon and Dillon.  She and her husband Darin, after he was laid-off from a lucrative job due to cut backs, started their own business.  She has been through the death of her ex-husband; father of her oldest child, the tragic death of her brother-in-law in a car crash, her father falling prey to and dying of complications from Alzheimer’s.  She has also had several surgeries and in her neck surgery, if not by the grace of God, she could have lost her ability to sing.  “God never said life would be easy, He did say He would always be there and never leave us.  That he would take care of us, lead us, and love us.”  Joni says.  Her faith is one of the strongest things about her.

Joni and her husband, are both faith-filled, Spirit-filled Christians, and are well trained in Spiritual warfare.  Being delivered from severe depression herself, and then years of lingering fear that it would return, Joni knows full well the importance of knowing that God provides everything we need, physically and spiritually.  She was delivered from the nagging fear that the depression would come back by using the only weapons that can conquer in the spiritual battle, the Word of God.  “...in all things we are more than conquerors, through Him who loved us.” – Rom.8:37

Soon after being set free from her fear, Joni began to feel a call into the ministry of singing and is pursuing her calling with renewed focus and passion.  She believes that God wants her to use her music to influence people for Christ, encourage and give them hope, and introduce them to spiritual warfare so that they too, can be set free from whatever is binding them up or holding them back, so they can live out the wonderful plan God has for them.

What People are Saying About Joni

Joni has a rich, strong voice, and she sings with a lot of enthusiasm.  Her performances are straight from the heart, making it obvious to the audience that she means and feels what she sings about.  When Joni sings it is like an artist painting a picture in which the completed work is evident once the song is sung.
