Who is Jesus ?

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life." -John 3:16

Who is Jesus? He is our Savior, Redeemer, Messiah, Brother, and Best Friend. He is Someone you REALLY want to know!!

Jesus is God made flesh. He came in the flesh as God's only Son, to redeem us. After walking this earth for some thirty years, ministering to the hopeless, healing the sick, and giving us the example of how to live on this earth, He was crucified on the cross for our sins. He died for you! If you had been the only other person on this earth, He would have still died for you. And He didn't just die, He was beaten, spit at, cursed, hung on a cross, stabbed, had a crown of huge thorns shoved into His brow, Jesus, the Perfect One, who had never done any wrong, at all! He did it for you! ... On the third day after His death on the cross, He rose, alive...He Is Risen!! He walked on this earth many days after that and many people saw and spoke with Him. Afterwards, He went up to be with His Father, God, in the Heaven until the time He comes back to receive His own face to face. Even so, until that time, through faith, You can have a relationship with Jesus, RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW! The Gift of a relationship with Jesus, and eternal life is free. All you have to do is believe, and accept Jesus into your heart as your Lord and Savior. Below is a simple prayer to ask Jesus know that you accept Him as your Savior and into your heart. Just pray the prayer and let Him into your heart and He promises that He will come in and IF YOU LET HIM, He will begin to make you a new creature; like a butterfly from a catepillar. It doesn't matter what you have done, I promise, NO SIN IS TOO GREAT! Jesus will forgive you if you will ask Him and mean it in your heart, turn from those sins, and believe. He promises this in His word, the Bible, in 1 John 1:9: If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. How great is that! So just pray the prayer below and then allow God to do His work in your heart.

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, I want to KNOW you. I know that I am a sinner. Please forgive me of all my sins and come into my heart, I give it to you, please be my Lord and Savior. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. Take control of my life. Thank you for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Make me who you created me to be. Thank you and please help me to keep my feet on Your path and to follow You wherever You lead me. I praise You, Jesus. Thank You, Amen.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! You are a brand new creature. Now, read His word, talk to Him OFTEN, and let everyone know what Jesus has done for you!

Don't be discouraged if you don't, just all of a sudden, feel like a totally new person. Just ask Jesus to help you and to open your eyes to what His will is for you. Jesus loves you SO MUCH! He knows what you need even before you ask, but still ask, He wants to here from you.

Read His word, the Bible, and follow it. It is the map for your life. You wouldn't want to try to drive from Alabama to California without a map would you? Then why would you want to try to navigate through your life without the Bible, the owner's manual from the One who created you. Would you want to put a 5000 piece jigsaw puzzle together of the night sky over the ocean without the picture on the box top? Well, if you are trying to make it on your own in this world without help from The One who created you and knew WHY you were even born, then your trying to put that puzzle together blind folded! Now, a couple of things before we're done; one) don't forget to praise Him for who He is and the wonderful things He has already done that you never even realized until now, like giving His life for you, keeping you alive, etc. And for what He does for you from now on, and most of all for just being who He Is. Praise Him very often, morning, noon, and night. One day we will ALL praise Him together. Two) look for a church family to worship Him with. This church family will help you more than you can imagine! WARNING: make sure that this church believes in the error-free word of God, the Trinity (God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, all One God). Check everything that is said, always, to make sure it lines up with The Word!

Anyway, this church family will be there for you whenever you need them, they will pray with you, bless you, care about you, give you strength...basically, Jesus is your anchor in the storm and your church family is the body of Christ here on this earth. He uses them to help anchor you. Remember, be there for them too! I know this is a lot of information but don't get overwhelmed. God made you and He knows how to make it all sink in, so just rest in Him, love Him, and serve Him. You won't be sorry and you'll be ETERNALLY glad you did!

P.S. Sometimes the Bible can seem difficult to understand especially if you start with the Old Testament. Try finding a version that is easy to read like, the NIV (New International Version) or something. You could ask for help from someone in a Christian bookstore like Lifeway or Family. The King James Version is great but can be a bit hard to understand when your just starting. Also, start with the New Testament. Maybe even read 1John first. Then maybe read the gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. They are the first four books in the New Testament. The table of contents will show you where to find everything. There is also a Bible on-line, with several different versions, a search, and everything. Here is the URL:
